Meet Lara | The Coach Behind ProMotion

I’m Lara olde Bolhaar, the founder of ProMotion and a personal trainer passionate about helping people move better, get stronger, and live pain-free. Originally from the Netherlands, I’ve always been active, but I didn’t always feel strong or confident in my body.

Like many people, I struggled with body image and felt stuck in a negative cycle of self-doubt. No matter what I did, I couldn’t seem to break that cycle—until I found Olympic weightlifting and, years later, CrossFit. Lifting weights changed everything for me. I put on weight because I gained muscle as I grew stronger. Seeing the number on the scale go up was scary at first, but for the first time in my life I was able to start loving my body. It also taught me that strength isn’t just physical—it’s about resilience, confidence, and proving to yourself that you’re capable of more than you think.

But my journey wasn’t always smooth. Injuries, setbacks, and self-doubt were part of the process. I know what it’s like to feel frustrated with pain, unsure of where to start, or stuck at a plateau. That’s what pushed me to start learning about movement, injury prevention, and strength training—not just for myself, but so I could help others avoid the same struggles.

That’s why I coach today. I want to meet you where you are—whether you’re a beginner feeling overwhelmed, an athlete refining your technique, or someone trying to move pain-free again. My coaching isn’t about quick fixes or trendy workouts—it’s about building real, lasting strength and confidence in your body.

I continue to expand my knowledge in strength & conditioning, biomechanics, and movement quality. My goal is to bring my clients the most effective, evidence-based coaching, so they can train smarter, not just harder—and most importantly, feel strong, capable, and in control of their bodies.

The name ProMotion comes from the idea of “Promoting Motion”—not just physically, but in every aspect of life. It represents progress, resilience, and growth—whether that means overcoming an injury, hitting a strength milestone, or simply feeling better in your everyday movements.

ProMotion isn’t about quick fixes, fad workouts, or unrealistic gimmicks. Instead, I take an evidence-based approach that prioritizes movement quality, long-term progress, and sustainable strength—inside and out.
